Performance of Cowpea under Different Water Regimes in Amazonian Conditions

Water availability is a crucial factor in the final productivity of cowpea. The objective this work was to evaluate production and components cowpea under different irrigation depths Amazonian conditions. experiment carried out at School Farm Federal Rural University Amazonia, municipality Castanhal-PA, using cultivar BR3 Tracuateua, from September November 2014, 2015, 2016. experimental design conducted on six blocks four treatments, where 0, 25, 50, 100% crop evapotranspiration were tested. analysis performed when 90% plants phenological stage R9. evaluated pod length, number pods per plant, grains pod, mass one hundred grains, harvest index. There statistical difference among all treatments for productivities. An average reduction 827 kg ha−1 observed during three years study, treatment without compared with irrigated crop’s water demand. It found research that simple fulfillment nutritional phytosanitary demands crop, associated an adequate planning plant region, would already help improvement local choosing times deficit reproductive phase less than 33 mm.
